So, since one of my fics was just rec’d for some fan art, I figure I should make sure my stance on this is clear and documented.
I would LOVE art done for my fics. Scenes, covers, .gifs, go crazy, go wild! I love to see various interpretations in different mediums, and there are some phenomenally talented artists out there. If my work moves you to draw something, go for it! Just send me a link - because I definitely want to see it!
Same goes for translation into other languages. I would be both honored and humbled if anyone were to want to translate my works from English. Again, all I want is a link, and credit for the original story.
Other derivative works - such as PodFics & “deleted scenes,” are less open. I’ve never had much experience with PodFics, so if you ever happen to be interested, shoot me a message. I may be very open to the idea.
Things such as, “Deleted scenes,” or basically any action that doesn’t happen “on camera” I would prefer was not written by anyone else. Why? Because I may be planning a short story around that scene, and if you beat me to it, then I’ll feel bad for trying to write my own stories. And that’s never fun.
So, TL;DR - Art and translations = YES! PodFic = Maybe. Deleted Scenes/Other Scenes = Please no.
